This is the business card I designed for a client. He needed a business card that symbolically took the netherlands to China, and had something representing himself incorporated as well.

Chinese Typography

Currently I am working on a business card design for a client who will be traveling from the Netherlands to China. He wishes to present himself using a business card which holds his contact details in both western as well as Chinese typography. We agreed it would be extra interesting if we found a way to make the design in that way it represents my client as some kind of bridge or connection between the Netherlands and China.

I am researching Chinese typography at the moment, as well as thinking about the possible elements of the design.

Below are two pictures my client sent me as inspirational images. I often ask my clients to give me any pictures or other clues that inspire them. This does not imply I will use the image, but it helps me get the feeling right in order to be able to create a design my client and his focus group will likely feel good about. And when both the client as well as the focus group feel good about the design I reached my goal.

I have no clue where the images came from, and therefore am not able to link to the source. If anyone knows who holds the rights, please let me know so I can give them credit.

If any of you have experience with Chinese characters, Chinese typography or Chinese symbolics, please let me know. The internet tells me a lot, but I’d like to check some things before I’ll release the card.
